We just got back from a much needed vacation in Cancun, Mexico without our son. We stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula. The entire property is gorgeous and the food was delicious. My favorite was the Mexican restaurant. The red snapper was phenomenal! Our room was a corner villa suite that had a jacuzzi tub outside on the balcony as well as in. We literally lounged every day by the beach and pool and even though there was a lot of seaweed, the beach was so tranquil and just what I needed. I loved the hammocks on the beach and the day beds were perfect to completely let go and relax. Wednesday was the foam pool party with a DJ which was a total blast and every night at 9pm there were 15 minutes of fireworks. There is live entertainment every night in theatre for guests that choose to stay on the grounds. Our last day we decided to go and hit the jet skis. Again a total blast and only a few minutes of walking away. What I like about Cancun is you can leave the resort and go into town and do other excursions and still be safe. The resort has so much going on that if you decide to just hang around you will have a great time regardless. I highly recommend this resort to singles, couples and families. It’s a very diverse crowd and has little bit of everything for everybody.
